2004 Leitz Dragonstone Riesling
From: Germany
Price: $16.99
What our wine shop said: "Once you go Riesling you'll never go back. It has a very low alcohol level, but the flavor is better--goes with anything. I might lean more towards a Chardonnay with the meal you're making, but Riesling is always going to come through for you."
What we think: Wow. Though dry, it has a general aura of sweetness,
making it taste much like good Champagne without the carbonation. We both consider this among the best white wines we've ever had.
We drank it with: Pan-Seared Salmon Pasta with Spinach Cream Sauce
