How to Separate an Egg

15 January 2006

Egg1_11. Crack an egg and dump contents into one hand.  Watch to not puncture the yolk with the jagged shell.  Don't hesitate, just throw it into the hand.

Egg2_12. Gently pass the egg yolk back and forth, trying to lose as much of the white as possible.  Open and close your fingertips to loosen the whites from the yolk.

3.  Perfectly seperated egg yolk!

Note 1:You might avoid doing this right into your sink drain, as it has a tendency to clog if you have no disposal.

Note 2: We did not follow this rule.

I like the egg separation technique, but I was hoping you might wash your hands BEFORE you do this - I don't really care if you wash them AFTER.
